In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, you have to make different decisions at different times. In the following, we will tell you what happens if you sell Rocket or Groot to Lady Hellbender in Chapter 3 or 4.
What happens when you sell Groot or Rocket?
At the beginning of Chapter 3, you have to decide whether you want to sell Lady Hellbender Groot or Rocket. By the way, at the end of the chapter, you can reconsider your decision and either stick to your first decision or change your mind.
Selling Rocket or Groot is one of the few decisions that has a bigger impact on the rest of the game, as it makes Chapter 4 play out quite differently.
- If you sell Rocket: If you finally offer Rocket for sale in Chapter 4, Lady Hellbender will just laugh at you rather cheekily. No matter what you try, the negotiation with her will always fail, and Rocket, in his own way, will open fire quite angrily. In the further course of Chapter 4 you have to steal money from Lady Hellbender’s safe and shoot your way out of her fortress.
- If you sell Groot: If you decide to sell Groot in Chapter 4, Lady Hellbender is quite enthusiastic about the offer. You will then receive between 9,000 and 12,000 units from her, depending on how the negotiations go. Your dialogue decisions can influence the price achieved. Emphasize the uniqueness of Groot and then let Drax take over the negotiation, then you will get the highest sales value. However, if you mention other buyers and let Star-Lord take over the negotiation, you will only get 9,000 units. After Groot is sold, you have to free him from the cells under the throne room.
No matter what decision you make, you can always earn units. If you vote to sell Groot, you will receive units through the negotiation. If you vote to sell Rocket, you can later plunder bowls of money from Lady Hellbender’s treasury. You have to be quick here because after a short time an automatic cutscene starts in which you have to escape.
The more units you have, the more you can spend in Chapter 6 in Knowhere. Important: Make sure, however, that you save at least 8,000 units for the Nova Crops penalty so that you can pay the penalty in Chapter 9. If you want to collect all trophies and achievements, you have to own the 8,000 units so that you can unlock the corresponding achievement, because this is a missable trophy.
